Stratton is currently working on three projects. The first poetry collection, Don’t Swallow the Class Fish, is a vulnerable, dark, and yet witty investigation into childhood, innocence, and whether or not that is something one can lose—according to a goldfish. Characteristic of Stratton, she uses the collection to investigate difficult topics such as child molestation and existential crises with unwavering humor.
The second poetry collection is a chapbook based on the ideologies of psychologist Carl Jung and the intersections of mythology, the unconscious, and dreams. More specifically, the collection is based on the dream journal of the daughter of a friend of Jung’s. The dream journal, consisting of 12 dreams, is so incredibly odd and figurative, detailing ideologies of different religions and cultures the girl had no knowledge of…Each poem is inspired by one of these corresponding dreams.
The third poetry collection is a second chapbook with Dead Mall Press tentatively entitled A Nurse for the Fire, which investigates both self destruction and external destruction thrust upon us, and what crawls out of those flames.
