About Me

Hmmm…

How would one characterize M.J. Stratton? Disturbingly pale. Klutzy. A twenty-five year old published poet with a disturbing reliance on chocolate milk. And human. So fucking human that she feels everything as deeply as you do—fiercely. Emphatically. She just writes it down.

MJ Stratton is a [possibly disturbingly] pale poet and writer you can usually find writing in the bathtub, fully clothed, at two in the morning. Apart from writing, Stratton loves to have existential crises, make art collages, and spend “way too much money” on books as her goal is to one-day die peacefully in her sleep in a house often mistaken for a library. Some [Some! There are so many! She is indecisive af] of her favorite movies include Fantastic Mr. Fox, Darjeeling Limited, Stand By Me, Benny and Joon, Any of the Psych movies, Cool Hand Luke, The Way Way Back, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Corpse Bride, Miracle, and Mulan. She loves music—especially indie/alternative music, folk, emo, pop punk, and rock—and her inability to sing even remotely well haunts her to this very day. Stratton previously wrote under the pseudonym Phoebe Caulfield with the Instagram handle @phoebecaulfieldwrites. With articles written for Unpublished Magazine and poetry published in Oscilloscope Literary Magazine, Prometheus Dreaming, Unpublished Magazine, Cathexis Northwest Press, and more, Stratton is an up and coming empath who wants nothing more than to connect with you through life and art. And maybe some chocolate almond milk.
